Here is the important update first. Autumn 2026 is the current AIOU semester cycle, and AIOU has already placed Autumn 2026 assignment question-paper sections on its website. However, as checked on 14 September 2026, the university’s Assignment Schedule page is still linking the Spring 2026 assignment schedules. So please do not use an old Spring deadline for an Autumn 2026 assignment. Wait for or check the programme-specific Autumn schedule when AIOU updates it.

Current AIOU Assignment Schedule
Here is what matters: Autumn 2026 is current, but the latest deadline files presently linked on AIOU’s Assignment Schedule page are for Spring 2026. The university has separate schedule links for Matric, FA, BA/Associate Degree/Certificate programmes and higher programmes.
For example, the Spring 2026 Matric and FA schedules gave four assignment dates for six-credit-hour courses: 10 June, 6 July, 31 July and 20 August 2026. Three-credit-hour courses had two assignment dates: 6 July and 20 August 2026. The BA/Associate Degree/Certificate schedule followed the same general pattern. These dates have already passed and should not be treated as Autumn 2026 deadlines.
For Spring 2026 higher programmes, AIOU listed different dates by programme. B.Ed/ADE assignments were due on 27 June and 15 August, while LMS-based Associate Degree, BS and BBA ODL programmes had dates of 30 June and 22 August. This is exactly why students should always open their own programme schedule instead of copying a date seen in a Facebook post or WhatsApp group.
How to Download AIOU Assignment Question Papers
Downloading AIOU Assignment question papers is quite simple. Go to the university’s Assignment Question Papers page and select the semester that matches your admission. The current page includes Autumn 2026 sections for SSC, HSSC, NFE and related courses as well as Bachelor, ATTC, ADC, ADB, BS, BBA, B.Ed and postgraduate courses.
AIOU Assignments Download Steps
Open the AIOU Assignment Question Papers page, choose Autumn 2026, then select your programme group. After that, find the correct course code and open or download the question paper. Before starting, match the course code with your registered subjects in CMS.
That small check can save you a big headache. Imagine spending two evenings writing an assignment and later finding out that you downloaded course 1423 instead of 1424. Course code pehle check kar lena is much easier than writing everything again.
AIOU also tells students to answer according to the question requirements and avoid simply reproducing material from books or study guides.
How to Submit AIOU Assignments
There is not one submission method for every AIOU student.
According to AIOU’s current FAQ, students enrolled in BS, B.Ed, MA, MSc ODL and equivalent programmes are required to upload assignments through Aaghi LMS. On the other hand, SSC and HSSC assignments are submitted to the allotted tutors. AIOU’s examination information also describes assignment submission as online or postal, depending on the case.
So before sending anything, first confirm your programme and submission route. Matric or FA students should not automatically assume that an LMS method shown in a BS student’s YouTube video also applies to them. Likewise, an LMS-based student should not simply post an assignment to a tutor unless AIOU has instructed that programme to do so.

Aaghi LMS Assignment Submission
Aaghi LMS is AIOU’s Learning Management System. The university uses it for academic activities including assignment submission for applicable ODL programmes. Students log in using credentials provided by AIOU. Courses normally appear on Aaghi after admission has been confirmed.
For programmes covered by the LMS instructions, AIOU’s assignment guidance says assignments should be typed and uploaded in Word or PDF format by the due date. The published guidance for these programmes also says handwritten scanned assignments are not accepted and late assignments cannot be uploaded after the deadline.
If your course is missing from Aaghi, first check whether your admission has been confirmed. If your credentials are missing or the LMS itself is creating a problem, AIOU advises contacting the concerned Regional Campus.

How to Check Assignment Marks or Status
Once results are declared, AIOU says students can check their result through the CMS portal. After logging in, open My Results and then use View Course Detail to see the components of the course result.
If you submitted an assignment through Aaghi but it remains ungraded, the university advises submitting an application to your concerned Regional Campus. If the assignment was submitted according to schedule, the Regional Campus can forward the case for supplementary result processing or revision.
For ODL students whose assignment, quiz or attendance marks are missing, AIOU directs them to the Directorate of Regional Services. The claim is checked and, if valid, sent to the Results Section for updating. Face-to-face students are told to route such matters through their respective department.

Common AIOU Assignment Problems
Wrong Course Code
Always compare the code printed on the question paper with your registered courses in CMS. Do not rely only on the course title because similar subjects may have different codes.
Submission Deadline Missed
AIOU’s published assignment instructions clearly warn against late submission. LMS instructions state that assignments cannot be uploaded after the deadline. For tutor-based programmes, official schedules also stress submission within the prescribed date.
File Upload Issue
Check the required file type and make sure you are using the correct course inside Aaghi. If the issue continues, contact your Regional Campus rather than leaving the problem until the last day.
Tutor Issue
Tutor details are available in CMS under the Academic Record tile. Tutors are allocated by the concerned Regional Campus. If no tutor appears, AIOU advises contacting your Regional Campus.
Assignment Not Showing
AIOU says courses are added to Aaghi LMS after admission confirmation. If your admission is confirmed but a course still does not appear, contact the concerned Regional Campus.
Marks Not Updated
For ODL assignment marks, contact the Directorate of Regional Services. If you submitted a physical assignment and have proof such as a registry or courier slip, keep it safe because AIOU’s helpdesk specifically mentions submission proof when requesting inclusion of missing assignment marks.
